More information about this coffee
Step into the world of Laboyano, a Washed coffee that carries the essence of the Valley of Laboyos and the beautiful flavors of Pink Bourbon in every sip. Named after the region and its people, Laboyano is a meticulously crafted, fully traceable coffee that showcases the dedication of the producers from all over Huila. The passionate producers who contributed to this exceptional lot cultivate Caturra, Colombia, Castillo, and Pink Bourbon varieties at their farms, nestled at elevations ranging from 1,600 to 1,900 m.a.s.l. Speaking of Pink Bourbon, this remarkable variety was discovered in Southern Huila, near Pitalito and has since found its way onto numerous farms. This lot pays homage to the special variety now more widely available.
Creating this communal lot is a labor of love. Each small lot undergoes rigorous cupping sessions to ensure quality.
From the very first cupping when producers bring their samples to our buying station, to the final cupping at the warehouse where samples are taken from every sack, consistency is key. Once approved, the parchment coffee is carefully packed in grain-pro, preserving its pristine state until the entire lot is milled.
Laboyano is the embodiment of the hard work and commitment of the producers who trust and collaborate with us. They appreciate our transparent model and the fact that we buy coffee across all ranges of qualities they produce. Fair prices are just the beginning – we provide feedback on every single cupped lot, whether purchased or not. Our ability to buy across various quality ranges allows us to guide producers in their processing methods, alleviating their concerns about price fluctuations. This coffee represents an essential part of the supply chain, offering exquisitely processed coffees that may not reach the level of “single-farm micro-lots” but are undeniably deserving of fair compensation!
